Radical Teamwork in Black Relationships: Building Hope in a Love Recession

Professional Development Seminar

Invited Guests:

  • George James, LMFT - Marriage and Family Therapist, Council on Relationships
  • Tonya Ladipo, LCSW, M.Ed. - Clinical Social Worker/Owner, The Ladipo Group
  • Dave Pulley, M.A. - Doctoral Candidate/Owner, Diamonds in the Rough Consultation

Come fellowship with us as we continue to discuss and explore our theme for this year: "Radical Teamwork: Going Out of our Way to Build Connections." Our theme of radical teamwork is useful because it pushes us to keep at the forefront the notion that in order to be effective, teamwork is central. The idea of radical suggests that the brand of teamwork we want to foster this year will be extreme or uncommon. This kind of teamwork is not easy. It goes beyond what is convenient, inspiring committed service to each other and to the principles in which we believe and which sustain our community. Radical teamwork encourages us to go out of our way to connect with each other. In this month's professional development workshop we'll be reporting on the state of Black love and discussing how we as community members and clinicians can utilize radical teamwork to promote healthy, loving relationships in the Black community.
